A brief look at look at the technology that makes great sports broadcasts…

Action Replay, an exhibition at the National Science and Media Museum, opened back in July 2018 and featured ‘game-changing innovations in technology, as well as examples of the more quirky ideas used by broadcasters to bring audiences closer to the sports they love’.

The exhibition was spread over 2 galleries, one which was open for three months and the other which was open for seven months. Broadcast RF’s Ref Cam, a lightweight wireless camera system designed to be worn by Rugby League referees, was on display for the full seven month duration alongside a Rugby League referee kit.

Further information regarding the exhibition can be found online at the Science & Media Museum website.
