This May marked Broadcast RF’s first outing to the Royal Hospital Chelsea for coverage of the Chelsea Flower Show.
Established as the United Kingdom’s most famous flower show, the event has been known to attract up to 157,000 people each year, which is full capacity at the 11-acre Royal Hospital grounds.
This year’s event took place from the 20th – 24th May this year, but Broadcast RF were on site almost a week before the show got underway in order to successfully rig a total of 7 roving camera systems, as well as many return video circuits which were used for autocue and return video. The wireless camera systems included a permanent camera jib, as well as a second camera jib which was used for the royal day only.
The show was aired on television as 15 episodes throughout the week. The 2014 gold was awarded to Jo Thompson’s Fresh Garden, a London Square inspired design that excluded the usage of grasses and cow parsley and had a more ‘shrubby’ appearance.
