Broadcast RF have supplied the Channel 4 light entertainment show Deal or no Deal with a long term HD wireless system for several series’ now, and this year is no exception with the UK’s most popular daytime TV shows about to enter its 10th series after over 2,300 shows to date.
Episodes of the show are filmed (as live) months in advance of being shown on television, and on average there are 15 shows recorded every week. Aired five days a week, production will take place at new location this series – The Bottle Yard studios in Bristol.
As per previous years, a member of the Broadcast RF engineering team was on site ahead of recording in order to rig and guarantee the long term wireless camera system for the first show. A lightweight HD radio camera system is used for every single episode of the show, which is rigged on a steadicam system using a Hitachi DK-H100 camera supplied by Gearhouse Broadcast. Full manufacturers camera control for the Hitachi is also provided.
The RF camera equipment will be held installed into the studio as part of a long term hire deal, and will not be de-rigged until May next year when the current 2013/14 season concludes.
