Both Link and Cobham equipment is designed around a block downconverted system with only short distances of around 100 m between downconverters and receivers allowed.

A great many applications require far greater distances to be covered. Many stadium cable runs are in excess of 300 m between the OB compound and a suitable receive point. To combat this problem we stock a number of triax and fibre extension systems.

Triax:
Our triax extension system allows 4 antennas and downconverters to be rigged and demodulated locally at the receive point. We then re-modulate an ASI signal onto a single triax cable and send it up to 600 m back to a receiver / decoder which is placed in the OB area. This system is perfect for venues where triax is pre-installed and where only a few cameras are to be used simultaneously.

Fibre:
Optical fibre has been around for a very long time but in more recent years smaller and less expensive devices have come to market allowing the transmission of RF signals in various bands over single mode fibre. In addition the broadcast industry now regularly uses hybrid fibre solutions for cameras thus providing additional infrasrtucture for us RF providers to use.
There are many advantages of using RF over fibre including minimal loss, long range and wide band transmission. Multiple camera signals can be recovered over many kilometers without any significant loss. Fibre now forms the back bone of a large majority of our work especially wide area coverage such as golf.
