This year, Alexandra Palace held the much anticipated London leg of the international Red Bull Soapbox race.
The aim of the event is to encourage groups of people to build and motorize home-made vehicles which will then go onto compete for the Red bull Soapbox title. Absolute radio managed to win the title this year with their self-made motor titled ‘The Breakfast Club’.
The race is an annual event across the globe in which home-made soapbox vehicles compete in a downhill race. This year saw the competitors challenge each other to a race down one of the slopes in Alexandra Palace. Some of most creative vehicles this year ranged from a Disney ‘Wonka Factory’ whilst another vehicle was titled the ‘Mean Steam Machine’.
Broadcast RF supplied OBS TV with a total of 4 HD wireless camera systems for Sony HDC1500 cameras, which were used for start line interviews, trackside race coverage, and judges area commentary, as well as 3 SD feeds for big screens which were scattered around the grounds at Alexandra Palace where the event took place.
