Broadcast RF will be supplying a range of equipment for the Sky Sports Rugby League beginning in February, on the back of a very successful year in 2013 which saw England & Wales welcome the Rugby League World Cup for only the fifth time since the tournaments establishment in 1954.
Since last season, Broadcast RF have been working closely alongside the Sky camera team to develop a lighter and more compact version of the Sony HDC1500 wireless camera system. A specialist bracket has been manufactured to incorporate the new generation L1700 Vislink transmitter and the VideoSys camera control receiver into the system. This new lightweight wireless camera system is reduced in size and significantly lighter and than the older version of the Sony wireless camera system.
The new Rugby League season starts at the beginning of February and is played through until mid-September, and our new system will be deployed for the first time on Friday 7th February, when Wigan Warriors welcome Huddersfield Giants for the first game of the season.
Alongside two HD radio camera systems which will integrate the new lightweight Sony HDC1500 RF rig, the wireless RefCam system, which proved a smash hit throughout the 2013 season, will be supplied by Broadcast RF as part of a long term deal.
